Lean Construction: A New Paradigm For Managing Capital Projects

IGLC organizes an annual conference to provide a discussion forum for its members. The aim of the Annual Conference is to bring together practitioners, educators, and researchers to discuss industry practices and new developments of theory and applications of lean production in the AEC Sector.

This three-day conference will feature presentations by international practitioners and researchers who are leaders in the study of construction projects as project-based production systems (Lean Construction). The meeeting is designed around several Conference Themes led by champions. The Conference Themes are (see http://www.iglc.net/themes/ for details).

The focus of the conference is on innovative theories and practices that will, or promise to, result in the judicious allocation of construction resources to transform raw materials into standing structures while maximizing flow of material and information, and value to the customer.

The conference is conducted in a discussion-friendly format and allows for ample opportunities to network with other Lean Construction enthusiasts.

A Conference Dinner will be held on Wednesday evening (July 18, 2007) offering a great networking opportunity for all participants.

Presented papers in the conference are peer-reviewed for both abstract and full-paper submissions. The final accepted papers will be published in the following proceedings:
